Join us for Jungle Week this February Half Term!

Bring your little explorers along from Saturday 14th - Sunday 22nd February for a host of jungle-themed fun across our Family Farm and Historic Gardens!

 

What’s on in the Historic Gardens... 

Jungle Explorer Trail 

You'll need your binoculars at the ready as there'll be lots to see across the Historic Gardens on our Jungle Explorer Trail! From tigers to chimpanzees and more...there’ll be something to spot around every corner as you search for the answers to the questions in your Jungle Explorer Activity Pack. Get all the answers correct to receive a sweet treat reward!  

Price: Included in the regular admission price to the Historic Gardens. Adults £2.95, Children/Concessions £2.25 (under 1s free).  

Don’t forget, we offer free entry for RHS members and are currently taking part in the Gardeners' World 2-for-1 gardens entry scheme (RHS member/Gardeners' World 2-for-1 card must be shown on entry).

Opening Times: 10 am - 4 pm daily (last entry 3.30 pm).

No pre-booking required, pay on entry.

What’s on at the Family Farm...

Jungle Animal Colouring Competition - Our craft room will be set up and ready for any budding artists to colour in a masterpiece to enter into our Jungle Animal Colouring Competition!

The Family Farm team will announce a daily winner on their Facebook page with each winner receiving free return entry (for one child) and a free bag of animal food! Plus, each daily winner will be in with a chance of winning our 'Winner of the Week' prize - a 70 cm Keeleco giraffe toy worth £39.99!

Meet our animals - say hello to our wide selection of domestic/farm animals, birds and reptiles, or if you fancy a more up close experience, join us at the times below for our animal meet & greet sessions: 

11 am – Egg collecting at our chicken coop 

12 pm – Meet the lizard

1 pm – Meet the guinea pig

2 pm – Meet the creepy crawly

3 pm - Meet the rabbit

Learn & play - Visit our main animal barn at 12.30 pm to learn about the important role civets play as seed dispersers and make your own 'civet poop' packed with wildflowers to scatter in the garden!

Say cheeese! Make sure you come photo-ready as there'll be plenty of photo opportunities to take advantage of - the perfect way to remember your day out! We love it when our visitors come along in fancy dress - why not bring the little ones along as their favourite jungle animal?

Try your luck If you’re feeling brave enough, have a go at our 'I’m a child get me out of here!’ challenge or see if you can hook a jungle duck (hook a duck £2 per go, win a prize every time).

In addition to the activities listed above, the Family Farm will also be running some bookable VIP sessions where you can get up close to your favourite animals. These sessions not only give you the opportunity to spend longer with the animals than the regular meet & greet sessions, but also the chance to see them in a different light and even feed some of them yourself!

The sessions are priced at £10 per person and need to be booked and paid for at least 5 minutes prior to the start time. Bookings and payments can be made at the till point in the Family Farm gift shop. Each session is approximately 10 minutes long.

VIP Session Timetable:

10.30 am - VIP Asian Palm Civet - Get up close and personal with Puk our Asian Palm Civet, where he will come over to you and you will be able to feed him some of his favourite treats! You will also get the chance to chat with a keeper & ask any questions you might have and take as many photos as you like. (max 6 ppl)

11.30 am - VIP Offshow Room - This experience gives you the chance to see our Alligator Snapping Turtle and feed the Three-banded Armadillo some of his favourite treats behind the scenes! Also the opportunity to chat with a keeper & ask any questions you might have and a chance to take as many photos as you like. (max 4 ppl)

1.30 pm - VIP Highland Cow Brushing - Time to interact and get up close brushing our highland cows, with the opportunity to chat with a keeper & ask any questions you might have and the chance to take as many photos as you like. (max 4ppl)

2.30 pm - VIP Pygmy Goats - Taking one of our Pygmy Goats for a walk and feeding them some of their favorite treats, the opportunity to chat with a keeper & ask any questions you might have and a chance to take as many photos as you like (max 3 ppl)
